Open-source integration lets any MCP-compatible AI assistant upload, process, and retrieve pathology and medical device data through plain-language prompts, with one simple setup.
SINGAPORE, September 9, 2026. Jonda Health, the Singapore-based company behind JondaX, today announced the launch of the JondaX MCP Server, an open-source integration that lets AI assistants built on the Model Context Protocol call JondaX's pathology and medical device data tools directly, through plain-language prompts, with one simple setup.
The JondaX MCP server is a local connector: your AI tool launches it on demand and talks to it over stdio. With the JondaX MCP Server configured, a developer or clinician can ask their AI assistant to complete a task directly, for example by saying "upload this lab report using JondaX." The assistant passes the file to JondaX, which de-identifies and extracts the data. A pathology upload is processed asynchronously, so getting the finished result back is a separate step: the developer or clinician asks the assistant to check the upload's status or retrieve the extracted results. A medical device photo is processed synchronously, so its reading comes back immediately, in the same response as the upload.
The server provides four tools built on JondaX's existing workflows: uploading a pathology scan, uploading a medical device reading, checking an upload's status, and retrieving the finished result. Results are returned in the formats health systems already use, including FHIR, HL7 v2, JSON, and CSV, coded to established medical coding standards and normalized across units and languages.
Setup requires a single configuration edit: adding the JondaX MCP server entry and one API key credential to an AI assistant's configuration file. The server works today with OpenAI Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, Claude Desktop, Cursor, Antigravity, and more, per JondaX's official API documentation. It is published as an open-source npm package, @jondax/mcp-server, with source available on GitHub. Support for remote (HTTPS) clients like ChatGPT and the Gemini app is on the development roadmap.
The JondaX MCP Server acts as an interface into JondaX's existing platform. It uses the same API key and connects to the same infrastructure as a direct API integration, and all uploaded data is processed by JondaX itself, not by the AI assistant or the MCP layer. JondaX is ISO 27001 certified and designed to comply with HIPAA, GDPR, and PDPA, and that compliance posture applies to every upload made through the MCP server, the same as it does for existing integrations.
"Most of the health data our industry works with was built to be read by one person, in one format, in one place," said Suhina Singh, founder and CEO of Jonda Health. "The MCP server makes it possible to work with that same data through the AI assistants developers already use, without changing how the data itself is secured or processed."
The JondaX MCP Server is live now for JondaX account holders. Setup instructions and documentation for all four tools are available on the JondaX API docs page and on GitHub, and current API key holders can add the MCP server to their AI assistant of choice today.
