Turn clinical notes captured on paper or in PDFs into structured data your systems can use. Scanned letters, typed notes and photographed pages go in, and structured notes come out in FHIR JSON, FHIR XML, HL7 v2 or JSON. Clinical Notes is currently in beta.
Clinical notes carry the context that results and readings cannot: what was observed, what was decided, and why. Yet much of it still arrives as scanned letters, printed summaries and pages photographed on a phone. Teams either retype it by hand or leave it sitting in a file that no system can search or act on.
See how JondaX handles this →Three steps, through the same JondaX API you already use for other clinical data.
Upload a PDF, a scan or a photo of a paper note through the JondaX API.
The text is extracted from the document and organised into a structured clinical note.
Get the note back in FHIR JSON, FHIR XML, HL7 v2 or JSON, ready for your electronic health record (EHR), app or research pipeline.
Clinical Notes is in beta, and we are working closely with a small group of partners to shape it. If you have a use case in mind, we would like to hear about it.
Have a specific note type or format in mind? Tell us when you get in touch and we will let you know how the beta can support it.
Notes that once sat in a file become data your systems can store, search and use.
// Input: scanned progress note (PDF) { "resourceType": "Composition", "status": "final", "type": { "text": "Progress note" }, "date": "2026-09-14", "section": [ { "title": "Subjective", "text": { "div": "Dry cough for six weeks, worse at night…" } }, { "title": "Objective", "text": { "div": "Temperature 36.8 °C, chest clear…" } }, { "title": "Assessment", "text": { "div": "Persistent cough, cause to be confirmed…" } }, { "title": "Plan", "text": { "div": "Chest X-ray requested, review in two weeks…" } } ] }
Illustrative example. Output structure is configured to your needs.
Conversion of clinical notes from PDFs and paper into structured notes, delivered in FHIR JSON, FHIR XML, HL7 v2 or JSON through the JondaX API.
FHIR JSON, FHIR XML, HL7 v2 or JSON. You configure your default output format on the JondaX platform, and the format can also be specified per API call if different downstream systems need different formats.
Email hello@jonda.health with a short description of your use case and the kinds of notes you work with, and our team will be in touch.
Not at this stage. The 30 free transformations cover pathology and medical devices, and Clinical Notes is available through the beta.
Yes. Clinical Notes runs on the same JondaX platform, which is ISO 27001 certified and designed to comply with HIPAA, GDPR and PDPA. Data is pseudonymised and purged after 30 days.
